Terms and Conditions - Makeseum

Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Makeseum website and the purchase of custom 3D printing, design, reverse engineering, and related services offered by Makeseum.

Trader information

The services and products on this website are offered by Makeseum Ltd. as the contracting trader.

  • Trader:Makeseum Ltd.
  • Registered address:Sofia, 150 "St. Kliment Ohridski" Blvd., Bulgaria
  • UIC:206985852
  • Website:www.makeseum.com

Scope of services

Makeseum may offer, depending on the project, one or more of the following:

  • custom 3D printing and additive manufacturing
  • 3D CAD design and design-for-manufacturing support
  • reverse engineering and related technical services
  • other custom production or consulting services where individually agreed

Orders and contract formation

The website allows customers to request quotes, upload files, configure production options, and place orders remotely. The exact order flow may vary depending on whether the project is automatically quoted or manually reviewed.

  • Customers must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date contact, billing, and delivery information.
  • A submitted order or quote request must be based on the files, quantities, materials, and specifications selected by the customer.
  • Makeseum may contact the customer for clarification if a file, dimension, material choice, price, delivery detail, or production requirement needs review before fulfillment.
  • Project-specific offers, emailed confirmations, invoices, or written agreements may supplement these Terms and take precedence where they regulate a specific project more precisely.

These Terms apply both to consumers and business customers, but mandatory consumer-protection rules apply only where the customer is legally acting as a consumer.

Customer files, dimensions, and approvals

For self-service and uploaded-file orders, the customer remains responsible for the correctness, legality, and suitability of the files and specifications submitted.

  • Unless Makeseum has expressly agreed to create or correct a model, files are generally manufactured as provided by the customer.
  • The customer is responsible for checking dimensions, geometry, wall thickness, fit, tolerances, and intended use before confirming an order.
  • If Makeseum manually reviews a file or quote, the customer should verify the approved dimensions and specifications before production starts.
  • Requests to replace or materially change files after ordering may be refused, repriced, or treated as a new order if production has already started or the changes affect manufacturability.

Makeseum is not responsible for errors that result directly from incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable customer-supplied files or instructions.

Prices and payment

Prices for products and services are shown through the website interface, in quotes, or in written communication depending on the type of project. Delivery charges are normally shown separately.

Makeseum may require advance payment, full payment, or staged payment depending on the product, service, or project scope. Available payment methods are shown on the website or during checkout.

Where a quoted or configured order changes because the customer changes files, quantities, materials, finishes, deadlines, or scope, Makeseum may update the price accordingly before proceeding.

Production and technical execution

Custom manufacturing decisions may involve technical judgment. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Makeseum may determine the most appropriate production approach for the order.

  • Makeseum may choose print orientation, support strategy, machine allocation, and comparable technical settings unless the order expressly includes agreed alternatives.
  • Lead times are estimates unless a firm deadline has been expressly confirmed in writing.
  • For larger, sensitive, or technically demanding orders, Makeseum may recommend or require a sample, prototype, or staged approval before full production.

Minor visual or process-related variations that do not materially affect the agreed function, material category, or overall specification may occur as part of custom manufacturing.

Delivery and transfer of risk

Delivery methods, shipping price, and dispatch timing are governed by the order details, the selected courier service, and the destination country or region.

The customer must check that the recipient name, phone number, address, and selected pickup point are correct. Makeseum is not responsible for delays or failed delivery caused by incorrect customer-provided data.

Further practical information about shipping methods and delivery charges is available on the Payment and Delivery page.

Consumer rights, complaints, and withdrawal

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory rights granted to consumers under applicable Bulgarian or EU law.

  • Consumers buying at a distance generally receive pre-contract information, including price, trader identity, payment, delivery, and complaint details.
  • Consumers may have statutory remedies if delivered goods are defective, damaged, or do not conform to the agreed order specification.
  • The standard 14-day withdrawal right generally does not apply to goods made to order or clearly personalised for the customer.

Questions about complaints, delivery damage, defects, refunds, and withdrawal should be handled under the practical procedures described on the Returns and Complaints page.

Where these Terms conflict with mandatory consumer-protection law, the mandatory legal rules prevail.

Restricted and prohibited projects

Makeseum may refuse any order or project that is unlawful, unsafe, abusive, technically inappropriate, or inconsistent with its internal risk policies.

  • Makeseum does not accept projects involving weapons, weapon parts, ammunition-related parts, explosive devices, or similar restricted items.
  • Makeseum may refuse files or projects that create legal, regulatory, sanctions, export-control, safety, or ethical concerns.
  • Makeseum may also refuse production if the submitted file appears dangerous, misleading, defective, or unsuitable for the stated use.

Intellectual property and confidentiality

The customer is responsible for ensuring that uploaded files, drawings, trademarks, models, and other materials may lawfully be used for the requested project and do not infringe third-party rights.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, submitting a file or project to Makeseum does not transfer ownership of the customer’s intellectual property to Makeseum.

Makeseum retains rights in its own website content, branding, internal production know-how, and any original materials created by Makeseum unless otherwise expressly agreed.

Applicable law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to consumers under Bulgarian or EU law.

The parties should first try to resolve disputes amicably. Consumers may also contact the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Commission or another competent authority where applicable.

These Terms are intended as a practical contract summary for Makeseum’s website and services. They do not replace mandatory legal rights or project-specific written agreements.
